Medieval village, has come down to us intact with its walls and its castle, scene of the tragic love between Paolo and Francesca, sung by Dante, Petrarch, Boccaccio and D'Annunzio.

A perfect set for a swashbuckling film. Perched in a strategic position between the March of Ancona and the state of Urbino, the village has its symbol in the impressive city walls, which can be entirely walked, and which remained virtually intact from the fifteenth century.

A village from the past; it retains a tower and the ancient castle walls. Giovanni Santi Raphael’s father was born here.  In Morcila  Villa Albeni, a patrician country house and the Romanesque - Gothic church of Santa Maria are well worth a visit.

San Leo

Between Romanesque churches and Renaissance palaces, the castle with its 600 meters above sea level, overlooks the valley of Marecchia. The core of the Romanesque village, the  church, the cathedral and the perfectly match in Piazza Dante Alighieri  the Renaissance buildings such as the Palace della Rovere, residence of the counts della Rovere.
