ALONG THE ROADS OF BACCHUS
Allow us to lead you to the discovery of two wine-maker firms in our land that stand out for their history and culture.
- FATTORIA MANCINi , Pesaro (www.fattoriamancini.com): The firm was set up in the mid-Nineteenth century, the vineyards rise in the Natural Park of Mount San Bartolo. The leading red species of vine is the Black Pinot of which five generations of Mancinis have kept the original clones, brought to the zone at the beginning of the 1800s by the Napoleonic administration. After two centuries of adaptation this Black Pinot can now be considered a local species of vine in its own right.
- TENUTA DEL MONSIGNORE, San Giovanni in Marignano (www.tenutadelmonsignore.com): The roots of a family, the story of a company amid past and present. Antonio Bacchini was the founder of the current estate, which identified with the surname of the family right up to the end of the XIX century. It then became the countryside home of Monsignor Francesco Bacchini (born in 1834), the ancestor of the current owners. The vineyards extend over a surface of 85 hectares, approx. The “red berry” varieties are: Sangiovese, Cabernet, Sauvignon, Merlot and Terrano. The “white berry” ones are: Trebbiano Romagnolo, Pignoletto, Bombino Bianco, Chardonnay and Riesling Renano.
