CLASSICAL TRAVELS
guided tours to Urbino, Pesaro and Fano discovering the precious mosaics, cathedrals, art galleries and museums
- Urbino, included in 1998 in the patrimony of the UNESCO, it is the Renaissance of the new millennium. Its ducal palace - planned by the great Federico da Montefeltro and an admirable example of architecture - houses the national gallery of the Marches, with precious paintings by Piero della Francesca, Laurana and Raffaello, whose house has been transformed into a museum.
- Pesaro, has the precious mosaics of its cathedral, the Art Gallery, the Majolica Museum and the Rossini Foundation - a musical institute of worldwide fame.
- Fano, the visit to the Roman Forum can only begin from the Arch of Augustus, the age-old symbol of the town, built at the point where the Flaminia enters the Decumanus Maximus. This monument dates back to 9 A.D.. Starting here, we meet August’s Enceinte built by the emperor himself. In the medieval section of the court of the Malatesta dynasty, there is the Art Gallery, the Archaeological Museum, then the tombs of the Malatestas.
